Wichita's public water supply is blended from Cheney Reservoir surface water and groundwater from the Equus Beds wellfield, together with the city's Aquifer Storage and Recovery project. The city also replaced its 80-year-old main treatment plant with the Northwest Water Facility, which it took ownership of in 2025 and which is designed to produce 120 million gallons per day for Wichita and surrounding communities. The City of Wichita publishes an annual water quality report, the Consumer Confidence Report, at wichita.gov/CCR. That report is where we start.
